All the Colours of the IPA Rainbow

Pink Boots has gone from strength to strength since its inception at Beervana 2014. New Zealand already had a good foundation of trailblazing women in the industry like Tracy Banner head brewer of Sprig and Fern, we also have women like Christina Wood from Liberty and Bron Marshall from Rocky Knob who may not be on the brew floor but are an equal part of the breweries growth and success. During a recent overseas media visit from a men’s magazine, every place we visited there were woman that showed us around. It was not planned at all, but it was a clear indication of what we already know – women love beer too! Which is why the format for the Pink Boots bar has changed slightly this year. Instead of being a bar with beers that are brewed by women – this year it will be a bar dedicated to showing the many different styles of IPA, brewed especially for Beervana, by brewers…..that just so happen to be women!

Pink Boots are bringing you the “United Colours of IPA”. Five regions of Pink Boots will be brewing up NZ’s most loved style in five different iterations – Red, White, Black, Original and Imperial. Consume, compare and contrast this delicious drop. Maybe even try your hand at blending…because red and white makes pink after all!

Peach and mandarin dominate the aroma which is followed with a citrus explosion in this creamy wit beer.

This American Black Ale at 6% is made with an abundance of US hops and a rich espresso coffee

WELLINGTON

Hop Mess Imperial IPA
Very pale gold with bright white head. The nose is a riot of fruity American and Kiwi hops. Centennial brings grapefruit and floral, grassy notes. Motueka adds some more citrus and tropical fruits. The beer is super dry, which makes the 80 IBUs really grab the tongue. Incredibly easy to drink this is classic IIPA.

TAURANGA

Mata

Hop Lips American IPA
BIG hoppy American IPA.

AUCKLAND

Auckland
Brewed at Hallertau
Whero Wahine IPA
A Candy, Jammy and slightly grassy hop aroma on the nose. With a complex caramel malt backbone, finished off with a prominent but moreish bitterness.
