Beer meets its match at Beervana. This year we invited breweries to pair up with a restaurant so that every single tasty morsel that passes your lips will have its perfect pair. We believe beer and food are made for each other, on and off the restaurant table. Beer fodder has moved beyond “dude food” and a punnet of chips, this will be the best damn food you’ll find at a beer festival. Fact!
Not to be outdone by our international brewery programme, what is stopping us having an international restaurant?
ROCKWELL AND SONS + GARAGE PROJECT
It’s with extreme excitement we’ll welcome Rockwell and Sons from Melbourne to Beervana this year. They’re no strangers to Wellington, having been part of the Wellington On a Plate programme the last few years – serving up their signature “Double Paddy Smash Burgers” in a tent in 2014 and teaming up with Garage Project for their Milk Bar pop up last year. Wellington ate so much of their fried chicken that they bought every single one of the organic chickens in the wider Wellington region. So it is no surprise they’re back again and back teaming up with best buddies Garage Project.

GRILL MEATS BEER + MCLEOD’S BREWERY
McLeod’s head brewer Jason Bathgate was instantly on the phone to Shaun Clouston who heads up Logan Brown and Grill Meats Beer when he read about the Beervana restaurant pairing this year. Having worked with him on beer matched dinners in his previous job as a brewer at 8 Wired and a shared loved of great food they’ve been buddies ever since. Shaun understands the intricacies of amazing beer matches having also been the chef for our “Pint Sized Beervana” event in Good Beer Week in Melbourne this year.

ZIBBIBO + EMERSON’S
Two legends – Michelin-star rated Chef Adam Newell and “Godfather of NZ Beer” Richard Emerson, team up to bring you legendary food. They’re clearly no strangers to bringing fine dining to interesting places.

LA BOCA LOCA + BEHEMOTH
It’s one big behemoth family! Behemoth head brewer Andrew and Sales Manager and brother Cameron , teaming up with Lucas and Marianne at La Boca Loca and their sous chef Jennifer – (i.e Andrew and Cameron’s sister) to bring you a giant Fiesta de La Familia.
