ON THE NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK STAND

Alchemy Street Brewing is a new brewing company made up of 2 Co-owners; Ed Bolstad & Kat Hay.

Currently operating as a Gypsy/Contract Brewery located in Tauranga, Ed (who has worked in the industry as a brewer prior to relocating to Tauranga), is the primary worker in the business itself, while Kat (who tragically, is a beer lover struck a cruel blow when recently diagnosed with coeliac's disease) still works as a physio, ensuring they pay their bills, have a roof over their heads and food on the table.

They plan to continue to develop their brand, with a view to eventually finding and purchasing premises to open their own Brewery/Barcade.

In this early stage of development, they believe there is no point trying to compete with the bigger breweries in the more common offerings (IPA's, Hazy's, Pilsners, etc) Instead they are focused on the less saturated niches in the market...

Fascinated by fruit, and located in an area that is bountiful with it, the majority of Alchemy Street's beers are fruit-forward and as seasonally appropriate as possible. Warmer months see lots of fruit sours and a few fruited ales. Cooler months see Darker Ales, Stouts and Porters.
